To celebrate the company's 25th anniversary, Radice has produced a limited number of pipes in the classic Lovat shape, with their famous Spiral Shank. In addition, the pipe is fitted with an elaborate silver bowl rim.

Please note the following:

Each pipe comes in a special, grean presentation case and with a certificate. The certificate shows the pipe serial number and Luigi Radice's hand-written signature. The certifcate has a short text in Italian that translates to: "For the occasion of a historic date, such as the 25th anniversary, we have created a pipe that caputres the philosophy behind our pipe craftsmanship".
Due to the flat bowl base, each of these pipes can rest on its own on a flat surface.
The pipes come in different Radice grades and are consequently offered for different prices.
Each pipe is stamped: "Radice 25th" (in a half-moon enclosure), and the serial number of the pipe.

COMMENT: The one thing that I probably need to point out here is the contrast between the rusticated bowl, with a color combination of black and red, and the perfectly smooth and natural spiral shank. I like how Radice carefully planned and executed the distribution of the smooth areas as opposed to the rusticated ones. As you can see, the entire shank, along with the bowl base are left in smooth, natural finish. It is in that area underneath the bowl that the nomenclature has been placed.

COMMENT: Of course, the one thing that needs to be stressed here is the fabulous Bird's Eye around the bowl. Most of the bowl exhibits breathtaking Bird's Eye, and the rest shows excellent Crossgrain. I also need to point out that Radice stained the pipe differently, applying the typical walnut color to the bowl, while giving the shank and the base of the bowl a natural stain. Radice went further by creating a delicate line that visually separates the bowl and shank.

COMMENT: The grain is a delicate pattern of Flame Grain all around the bowl. I'd also like to draw your attention to the slightly dark patina of the pipe. To me, this is an indication of Radice's use of well-aged briar, and when I asked him, he confirmed that he used some of the best briar he has to make these anniversary pipes. No surprise there.
