COMMENT: It takes courage to make just an enormous pipe into a straight shape! Of course, and no matter how strong your teeth are, you should never, under any circumstances, attempt clenching on this pipe, unless of course, you have high insurance on your teeth and you need the money to buy more pipes from me ;-) Humor aside, this is a magnificent pipe, of mind-boggling bowl diameter! The pipe was also made of an older piece of briar, according to Wilma, and I can see it. The grain is exceptionally uniform and regular, and the pipe has no bald spots whatsoever. With the exception of a few tiny sandpits on the shank base, I think this pipe is as sandpit-free as they come. In spite of its huge size, the pipe has a relatively small tobacco chamber, which was also shaped into a cone to allow for more even burning. The plateau top is gorgeous. I'll let you examine the pictures closely to get a better idea of the shape itself. |
